Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process in making a Memory Collage?
Once you have ordered a Memory Collage, I will e-mail you for any further details I may need. Once the project has been decided on, I will bill you for a 50% non-refundable downpayment. Once payment and photos have been received, work on your Memory Collage will begin. You will be sent a PDF proof for approval and any changes. Once the collage is approved, the final payment is due and the printed collage sent.

How do I get the photos to you?
Photos can be sent digitally though e-mail to memorycollages@cpilgrim.com or though the mail on CD or photographs. For my address, please e-mail.

What is the best way to scan my pictures?
When scanning photos, please scan at 300 dpi resolution. If your photos are smaller than 3.5"x5", please scan at a higher resolution to produce higher quality results in the finished project.

Photos and scanner should also be free of dust and dirt when scanning. If such debris needs removing digitally, there will be an extra charge per photo.

Will my digital camera photos work for a Memory Collage?
Depending on your digital camera and its settings, the photos should work for a Memory Collage. If you are taking photos for a future Memory Collage, take photos in the highest resolution and size possible for your camera to ensure that your images will reprint without pixelization.

What photos should I use to make a Memory Collage?
Any photos that make a statement about the theme of your Memory Collage. Also look for photos that you find to be visually pleasing and well taken. Out of focus or blurry photos cannot be digitally enhanced to produce a sharp image. Cropping photos can easily be done. Also, if an object or a person needs to be removed from a photograph, this can be done for an extra fee.

Will my photos be returned?
Yes, your original photos will be returned with your finished Memory Collage.

Do I have to send my original photos?
No, I recommend you have reprints made of your photos, especially irreplaceable photos. Therefore, if something should happen during shipping, then they will not be lost.

What if my photos need retouching?
The price for retouching photos depends on the amount of retouching that needs to be done. Quick retouches or color correction are included in the base Memory Collage price. Any extensive retouching, such as removal of large scratches, objects in photo, etc. will be quoted based on the photograph.

Can text be added onto my Memory Collage?
Yes, text can be added to the collage. If specific captions are needed for photos, please either reference the file name with the caption, or attach a post-it to the back of the photo. Handwritten text should be printed and clearly written. Please be sure to double check dates and names as I cannot be responsible for errors or omissions. Mistakes on my part will be changed at no charge.

Can I have a Memory Collage created in a different size?
Memory Collages can be made in any size you wish. Be aware however that printing charges will rise and variety of papers drop for sizes over 11x17.

What if I have a specific vision in mind for my Memory Collage that's different from your sample collages?
This is your Memory Collage and yours to guide as you please. If there is another design idea you want implemented in your Memory Collage, please feel free to ask. Please be aware that additional time and money may be needed to make your idea a reality.
